The Manitoba R-2000 Program is a joint effort of a number of national and provincial organizations including government, utilities and home building associations who believe strongly in the concept of advancing and strengthening the residential construction industry and building better homes. Natural Resources Canada owns the rights to the R-2000 Standard and has signed a delivery agreement with Manitoba Hydro to deliver the program in Manitoba.

R-2000 is offered under the general marketing umbrella of the Power Smart group of programs delivered by Manitoba Hydro. The Manitoba R-2000 Home Program is fully supportive of and is run in concert with the Power Smart New Home Program. As such, all certified R-2000 homes in Manitoba are eligible to receive the same program incentive as the Power Smart New Home Program. This being, either a voucher redeemable for up to $1 000 towards the purchase of a Energy Star front-loading washer or a $600 credit applied on the homeowner's electric bill.
