Air from attached garages can easily leak into a home. That air may contain any and all pollutants in the garage such as carbon monoxide from car idling, pesticides released from storage of yard care products, chemicals from stored paints and cleaning products, gasoline fumes, etc. All R-2000 Homes with attached garages are equipped with carbon monoxide detectors to warn occupants of any potential concentrations within the house. For those with severe sensitivities and health concerns, a detached garage may be a better option.
