Install a good ventilation
system
After building a well-insulated,
airtight building envelope and choosing interior materials and appliances which
contribute to a clean, healthy indoor environment, we must install a proper ventilation
system. The ventilation system will address any
potential interior pollution off-gassed from materials and all pollutants generated
from occupant lifestyles.
The heat recovery ventilation
system installed in all R-2000 Homes exhausts stale polluted air from the kitchen,
bathrooms, and laundry areas and brings in an equal amount of fresh exterior air
into the house.
Incoming fresh air is preheated
by the outgoing exhaust air for energy savings. The fresh air is filtered, heated
to room temperature, and mixed in with household air and distributed to all rooms
in the house. Any concentrations of interior air pollutants such as moisture,
carbon dioxide, or formaldehyde are kept to low levels.
In order to maximize the
available benefits of a heat recovery ventilation system, it should be installed
with the best controls available, which allow you to operate the system to match
your family's lifestyle.
